How to use this
Drip irrigation wastes almost nothing — water goes straight to the root zone. Sprinklers lose a third to evaporation and wind; hand-watering is worst because most of what hits the leaves runs off.
Climate multipliers are a starting point. A 95°F day with 20% humidity doubles tomato water need vs 80°F at 60% humidity — check local ET (evapotranspiration) data for serious planning.
Formula
per_plant_gal/day = crop_base × climate ÷ efficiency
gal/day = per_plant × plants
gal/week = gal/day × 7
