How to use this
Commercial pork is the most feed-efficient red meat — modern genetics hit 2.6–2.9 FCR on a balanced grain ration. Heritage breeds raised on pasture convert closer to 4:1 but command premium retail pricing.
Finish weights vary by market: 240 lb for standard dress, 280 lb for larger hams and belly primals. Pushing past 300 lb drops FCR as growth shifts from lean to fat.
