How to use this
Triple-mix is the classic: a third good topsoil for structure, a third finished compost for nutrients, a third peat or coir for moisture and aeration. For deep beds (18-24 in) you can fill the bottom half with cheaper branches and leaves (hügelkultur) and top with the mix.
One cubic yard = 27 cu ft. Bulk delivery is far cheaper than bags above about 3 cu yd — most landscape yards deliver for $30-60.
Formula
cu_ft = length × width × (depth ÷ 12)
bags = ceil(cu_ft ÷ bag_cu_ft)
component = cu_ft × (part ÷ total_parts)
