How to use this
Patterns drive waste: straight stacked throws away ~10% to cuts and breakage; herringbone can hit 20% because of angle cuts. Always buy at least one extra box beyond the calculation — dye lots vary and you'll want spares for future repairs.
Grout coverage drops with smaller tiles (more joint per sqft) and wider joints. 1/8 in is the standard for most floor tile; 1/16 for precise wall tile; 3/16+ for rustic stone.
